TriLok™ Ankle Brace for PTTD

The TriLok relieves pain from posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, or PTTD, by wrapping around the foot and lifting the arch, just like a healthy posterior tibialis muscle does.

Description
The TriLok offers an innovative approach to relieving the pain associated with posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, or PTTD. The key to the TriLok’s effectiveness is the patented, white FootLok strap. This strap mimics the posterior tibialis, the muscle/tendon structure responsible for lifting the arch of the foot. When the posterior tibialis becomes weak or damaged, it loses its ability to lift the arch properly and allows the foot to begin to collapse. The TriLok’s FootLok strap lifts the arch and relieves pain by correcting over-pronation and restoring the foot to its natural position. Watch this video for more information on how this works.

Reviews for TriLok™ Ankle Brace for PTTD

My regular Dr. referred me to a podiatrist due to numbness and discomfort in my left foot. The podiatrist quickly diagnosed that I was walking on the inside of my foot (I believe this is called over-pronated?) due to my flat feet. He prescribed the TriLok and the nurse showed me how to put it on and the correct direction to wrap the white strap.

I wore it continuously for the next month or so (even to bed a few times), and experienced a lot of discomfort as the nerves in my foot seemed to wake back up (tingling and burning was, believe it or not, better than the numbness). After about 4 months, I started wearing the TriLok every other day, and eventually tapered down to about two times a week.

It's now been 9 months and I only wear it very occasionally, when my ankle is feeling uncomfortable. I've pretty much worn out the velcro at this point, so I'm back to buy a second one. I never did return to the podiatrist to be fitted for custom orthotics; I'll just keep using the brace occasionally.

This is a great product and worth every penny, especially when I consider that I must have about 180 days of wear and tear on mine before needing a new one.

I have experienced great relief from Post Tibial Tendon Dysfunction, which surfaced after I dislocated and suffered a Trimalleolar ankle fracture. What's even better, the orthopedic surgeon who is treating me, approves.

My son was very happy to receive these as he has PTTD; being an Elite Track athlete, he works his body hard, but he has a peace of mind he's being supported with these braces. Also, I can't remember the Customer Service individual I spoke with, but he was extremely helpful and pleasant and personally took care of the order speaking with the warehouse people to ensure my son receives in time to train further for Sectionals in his state meet.
